Planpac Group is successfully delivering the design for a modern, 300-bed, provincial hospital to serve the people of the Southern Highlands Province. The project, which is currently underway is the Schematic detail design for the period of 12 months to increase the capacity of the existing hospital. Originally built in 1974 the hospital is in urgent need of an upgrade to meet the growing population - currently at 515,511 - of the Southern Highlands Province. Spread over three stages, Planpac’s redevelopment plan comprises of new surgical wards, disease treatment centres, birthing units, obstetrics and gynaecology areas, and distinct and separate entrances for the emergency and ambulatory/admission areas.
Planpac’s Masterplan provides a high-quality and dynamic facility to create a safe environment where effective medical care can be undertaken. Once the redevelopment is complete, the Mendi Provincial Hospital will be recognised as the referral hospital for the Southern Highlands Province. The new facility provides the public with a state of the art building inline with the New National Department of Health Standards.
